Privacy Policy

The short version
We hold what it takes to run Lux for your family, and nothing to sell. We never sell personal data, and we run no third-party advertising trackers.
Parents
When you sign up or subscribe, we hold:
- Your first and last name, and your email address
- Your subscription and billing history
- The emails we have sent you
A parent can invite people into their kids’ circle: another parent, a teacher, a tutor, or a relative. We hold the name and email they give for each person. Everyone in a circle sees the others’ names and emails, and the kids’ sessions and notes.
Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers. See Stripe’s privacy policy for what they keep.
Kids
A parent gives us each kid’s grade and, if they like, a first name. During a session, Lux hears your kid and sees the worksheet so it can help. Our COPPA policy explains exactly what a session keeps, who processes it, and how long we keep it.
Visitors
Browsing the site needs no account. We do not run third-party advertising trackers or share browsing activity with advertising platforms. PostHog helps us see how parents use our site and the parent pages of the app: which pages they visit, what they click, how far they scroll, and campaign labels. It also records a replay of the page, so we can see where Lux is hard to use. Replays hide everything typed into a form. On signed-in pages, they also hide the page’s words, such as your kids’ names. We use an anonymous browser identifier, then an account ID after sign-in. Web addresses reach PostHog without their query strings. We do not send names, emails, child details, worksheets, camera content, or session conversations to PostHog. Pages your kid uses, such as the live session, the camera, and lessons, send nothing to PostHog.
Who processes data for us
- Stripe, for payments
- Resend, to send our emails
- Cloudflare, for hosting
- PostHog, for site and parent-page analytics
- Our database provider, for storage
- OpenAI and Anthropic, to run sessions, as the COPPA policy describes
Nobody else. We disclose data only when the law requires it.
Your choices
Ask us for a copy of what we hold about your family, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@learnwithlux.com. We answer within 30 days. We keep billing records for as long as tax and accounting rules require, and delete the rest on request.
