Points that tell a story

What this lesson shows

4 bracelets an hour for 5 hours: a table, then points from (1, 4) to (5, 20), read as hours and bracelets.

The worked example

The lesson works this one step by step: 4 bracelets an hour for 5 hours. Then your kid tries one like it on paper.

The steps

  1. Make a two-column table
  2. Each row is a point
  3. Read a point as the story

Helping at home

Make a two-column table first: hours and bracelets. Each row is a point, hours across and bracelets up. Count the y-axis by the number made each hour, so the points fit. Then read a point back: (3, 12) is 12 bracelets after 3 hours.

If your kid gets stuck

Table first, then one point for each row.

Watch it with Lux

With Lux, this lesson is a narrated video and a printed page your kid works on. Then Lux helps with the same math on their own worksheet, one question at a time.
